IIJ to Create New Generation Messaging Services in Joint Venture with GDX Japan

--MX Logic and IIJ join forces to provide safe, reliable new messaging service for corporate clients-

TOKYO, Japan - April 4, 2007  - Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it has entered a joint venture agreement with the United States-based GDX Network, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Denver-based MX Logic, Inc., to form GDX Japan, Inc., which will provide a new-generation message exchange network service.

MX Logic is an IIJ partner that provides technical expertise for e-mail solutions, and the joint venture with GDX Japan will allow the two companies to develop worldwide services and localize them for release in Japan by the fall of 2007.

Spam, viruses, and other e-mail e- abuses are increasing, and the result is not only higher risk of phishing scams and information theft, but also a reduced effectiveness and deliverability of valid mail. E-mail has become a vital element of business infrastructure, and businesses are becoming increasingly aware of the basic need to preserve the deliverability and security of e-mail.

GDX Network and GDX Japan will build reliable private network infrastructure to ensure the deliverability and security of e-mail. IIJ has years of experience administrating hundreds of thousands of e-mail accounts in Japan, and combined with the latest messaging technology from MX Logic, they will create a new-generation messaging environment.
